Painting Service Guide

We accept new unassembled models or unpainted assembled models for paining.  We do accept old metal miniatures that you would like repainted, but we have to strip them and re-paint them, which normally includes a nominal fee depending upon the size of the figure. 

Until we can find a reliable way of stripping paint from plastic miniatures that guarantee no damage to the figure we do not repaint plastics.

Discounts are given for large orders, especially squad or army painting, as this allows us to give you a better service and a more uniformed look to the army. The discount varies based on the army and amount of figures to be painted.  Please contact us at painting@rotdog.co.uk for more details on the discounts available.

• If you purchase the figures from ROTDG you get a 10% discount on the painting costs.  Unless specifically requested we keep the spare parts from model assembly this helps to reduce the overall cost of conversions and scenery modelling costs.
• Assembly / Preparation costs include removal from sprue, assembly of the model, removal of flash and mould lines, and undercoating.  This cost is only charged if we have to assemble the figures for you. 
• A portion of this cost may be applied if we receive models from you that require preparation before we paint them.  We will email you for approval on any additional costs before we do anything to or with your models.
• Basic painting includes a base colour, basic dry brushed highlights and basic minimal detail. We also sand and paint the base edge, to ensure a uniformed look on the finished miniatures.
• Table top Painting includes a base colour, dry brushing, highlights and lowlights as appropriate for the figure, full modelled detail painted, including highlighting and additions from the models sprue (if any) the base will be sanded, and appropriate detail on the base (grass, city rubble, flagstone tiles etc.)
• Showcase includes everything from Tabletop painting with, additional pained detail (checks, cloak embroidery, hand painted symbols, custom individual bases,) blending and shading on appropriate surfaces, as well as a minimum of 3 levels of highlighting and shading.

At ROTDOG we are in the process of creating our own line of Scenery pieces. From single Dungeon pieces, to modular dungeon terrain and Hills, wooded areas, gothic cities or fantasy villages.
